What to Expect:
Patient Forms: When you visit the office for the first time you will be asked to complete our new patient intake forms. This paperwork provides your doctor with important information about your health history and the reason for your visit. If your visit is the result of an auto accident or work-related injury there will be additional information we need as well.
Consultation: Next, you will meet with your doctor to discuss your health history, current condition, and possible treatment options. During this time you will be able to learn more about the details of your condition, what health goals are realistic for you, and how chiropractic care can meet those goals.
Examination: After the consultation with your doctor, they will perform a chiropractic examination which may include postural evaluation, muscle and reflex testing, range of motion testing, and orthopedic tests to best evaluate your condition.
X-rays: Depending of the findings from your examination and the information you provided in your health history, your doctor will decide if x-rays are necessary before providing any treatment. X-rays help the doctor develop the most appropriate course of treatment for you. When the doctor reviews your x-rays with you, you will be able to see degenerative changes, misalignments, or other factors contributing to your condition. This also helps the doctor rule out more serious health conditions.
Treatment: Next, you will receive your first chiropractic treatment from your doctor. This will include chiropractic adjusting and may include passive therapies such as ultrasound therapy, electric muscle stimulation, heat / ice, and myofacial release. Before providing any care your doctor will explain each treatment and explain why that particular type of care is important to your recovery.
